He started dancing when he was nine years old. He studied at the National School of Arts and later joined the world famous Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba. Beginning in 2000, he worked as a ballet and contemporary dancer in Europe, joining dance companies in Switzerland, Germany, and Canada and performing throughout the world. He is well known for his methods and skills that help his dance students improve and grow. He created AfrocubanOnline.com, a website whose goal is to keep Afro-Cuban dance traditions alive.
