Description

Caribbean Film Days as part of the Latin American & Caribbean Film Festival (SALC2026) at @UNESCO Cinema theatre will feature an exclusive screening -PREMIERE EN FRANCE- of a great Caribbean movie on Friday evening, 5th June:

"DEEP BLUE" (in English), directed by Howard Allen and produced by HaMafilms from Antigua & Barbuda. The Drama feature film intertwines a love story with the critical issue of environmental activism and "land grabbing" in the Caribbean, highlighting struggle of local communities against large-scale developments that threaten the ecological integrity of the islands.

"When the architect behind a proposed luxury resort on a small Caribbean island, falls in love with a Canadian marine biologist, who is hell bent on stopping the project, the stage is set for a tragic showdown between the developer and the small fishing community who stand to lose their way of life and their very fragile marine environment, which is hanging in the balance.

The film was intentionally developed to coincide with global climate conversations (like COP26) to demonstrate the human side of environmental conservation."
