A comfortable, air-conditioned coach picks you up near your place of residence around 9 in the morning and takes you back in the late afternoon around 5. Excursions are guided in English, Spanish and German by experienced professionals. Insurance is included.

You'll be taken to the Arinaga Salt Flats (Agüimes coast), these salt pans have their origins in the 19th century and are a fascinating example of the ancient technique of salt production, which has been recovered to preserve this fundamental part of the island's heritage. The coastal scenery in this area is simply spectacular, and walking among the salt pans will give you an insight into the importance of this resource to both the economy and the local ecosystem. 

Then you head to the amaizing North Coast and to the Cenobio de Valerón, an ancient granary carved out of volcanic rock by the aboriginal Canary Islanders. This impressive archaeological site is one of the most fascinating examples of pre-Hispanic engineering. Used as a communal storehouse, it is believed to have once housed thousands of tons of grain. A visit to this site will allow you to step back in time and learn about the ways of life of the island's ancient inhabitants.

The journey continues to the Cueva Pintada in Gáldar (painted cave), a veritable archaeological treasure trove of pre-Hispanic rock art. This museum and archaeological park is fundamental for understanding the culture of the ancient Canary Islanders, who left their vision of the world on the walls of this cave. It is also one of the most important examples of cultural heritage conservation in the Canary Islands. 

You will also make an optional stop in Agaete, a picturesque coastal village famous for its gastronomy. where you will have the opportunity to sample some of the island's most traditional dishes while enjoying an unparalleled view of the sea. The cuisine in Agaete is famous for using fresh, local ingredients, guaranteeing an authentic culinary experience (menu 15 € approx., not included).

A 60-minute lunch time stop is scheduled in the tour at a typical restaurant in Agaëte coastal village, with an optional menu for 15 € approx (not included).

This tour takes place once a week, every Tuesday. Book with Dunas Map gives you the assurance of a VIP service in English, French or Spanish. This excursion is only available from Maspalomas / Playa del Inglés / Sonnenland / San Agustin. It is essential to book at least 48 hours in advance. You will just have a small deposit to pay now, the balance is due at least 24 hours before the day of the excursion. You will receive by email all the instructions to proceed as well as the exact address of the pickup point.

The weather is not the same in the north and in the summits than in Maspalomas. You have to provide adequate clothing, a pullover or light jacket in winter and good quality shoes (avoid too light sandals).
