Nous sommes ravis d'annoncer le premier concert de notre nouvelle série de concerts pour les familles "il était 8 fois”. 

Il s'agit d'un programme léger de pièces chorales pour 4 à 8 chanteurs, explicitement conçu pour un public familial.

L'octuor Voces Boreales (VB8) présentera une variété d'harmonisations chorales amusantes, populaires et passionnantes de toutes les époques!

Il y aura des rondes et des canons, des œuvres du répertoire choral classique et quelques brèves explications et démonstrations. Le concert mettra également l'accent sur la tradition de la chanson française et québécoise, avec des chansons de Leonard Cohen, Charles Trenet et Gilles Vigneault, ainsi que la création mondiale de Casi Alba du compositeur franco-québécois Mael Oudin.

We are thrilled to announce the first concert of our new Family Concert Series "once upon 8 times". 

A light-hearted programme of choral pieces for 4-8 singers explicitly designed for a family audience.

A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon together as a family, the Voces Boreales octet (VB8) will present a variety of fun, popular and exciting choral harmonisations from across the ages!

There will be rounds and canons, works from the classical choral repertoire and some brief explanations and demonstrations. The concert will also focus on the French and Quebec song tradition, including songs by Leonard Cohen, Charles Trenet, and Gilles Vigneault, plus the world première performance of Casi Alba by French-Quebec composer Mael Oudin.

Interesting anecdote: we discovered a new composer, Mael Oudin, through our 2023 Emerging Composers Workshop, and we are so pleased that his work will premiere at this concert.
