Lara Humbert Quartet + Ma

Lara Humbert is a pianist-composer based in Brussels. She formed her first quartet in 2021, bringing together European musicians with a strong presence on the Brussels experimental scene. Their debut album "Pinède" was released in March 2024. Their music is born of an infinite search for balance between written material and free improvisation. Blending different musical influences, whether jazz, rock or classical music, the narrative is guided by long melodies laid down in layers, situated on the border between tonal and atonal music. A warm, contemplative energy emerges, enveloped as it is by the obvious beauty of a fire. The fine, fascinating complexity of the pieces makes its way, as fluid as it is hypnotic. The encounter between the composer's piano, Amèle Metlini's violin, Benjamin Sauzereau's electric guitar and Gaspard Sicx's drums creates a joyful playfulness in search of textures and sounds, in the free interpretation of themes and improvisation.
