Molly Sweeney est aveugle depuis l'enfance, mais elle a créé dans son esprit un monde qui la rend heureuse. Molly Sweeney, blind since infancy, has created a world in her own mind which gives her pleasure and great fulfilment.  After she is persuaded by her husband and her surgeon to undergo a risky operation, her sight is only partially restored.  In this new frightening environment, she grieves for her old interior world which has been lost forever. Through a series of monologues, Molly Sweeney explores the difference between seeing and understanding in a deeply moving meditation on hope, change and despair.
