This conference explores moral injury as a growing yet often unspoken challenge in humanitarian work, particularly in contexts of prolonged crisis and resource constraints. Drawing on psychosocial research, clinical practice, and insights emerging from a preceding retreat-style workshop, the session offers innovative, co-creative perspectives on resilience and renewal.

· Introduction – Moral injury in the current humanitarian landscape

· Conceptual framework – Moral injury, peer support, and ethical distress

· Illustrative insights from the retreat (with participants’ consent)

· Short experiential exercise for the wider audience

· Closing reflections and key takeaways

APPROACH

The session integrates theory, lived experience, and participatory reflection. It introduces a humanitarian-specific adaptation of co-creative methods inspired by the Future Workshop approach, offering attendees both conceptual clarity and practical insight.
