Night of Ideas comes to Durham! Join us for a 4-hour marathon of art and science, including panels, performances, music and screenings. Check out the complete program, our participants and partners right now! (If the link doesn't work, find it down below.)

The Center for French and Francophone Studies, the Franklin Humanities Institute and Villa Albertine gather to host their very first nocturnal marathon of arts and ideas, on Duke's centennial. The words of Julian F. Abele, West Campus' Black chief designer under segregation, will shine a light on forgotten legacies that shaped our cities and communities, and guide us in addressing environmental, technological, and political challenges to social justice. Explore with us the limits of urbanity and urban metabolisms, in a call to repopulate liminal spaces of thought.

With the participation of Pr Felwine Sarr (Duke University), Tobin Freid (Durham County Government), Max Cawley (NC Museum of Life and Science), Kofi Boone (NC State College of Design, North Carolina State University), Sébastien Marot (École d'architecture de la ville & des territoires Paris-Est), Emmanuele Cunningham Sabot (École normale supérieure), Léone-Alix Mazaud (Mines Paris, PCA-STREAM | Philippe Chiambaretta Architecte), Tianming (Alaric) Zhou (Duke University), TIE (Villa Albertine)...
