About

For our next Out of Towners supper club event we welcome one of the most celebrated London restaurants in recent years up to Manchester.

Restaurant St. Barts, in the shadow of the medieval church of St Bartholomew the Great, London’s oldest church, is the only restaurant in the capital to hold both a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star, the first awarded for outstanding cooking, and the second for outstanding commitment to sustainability.

Founded by friends Johnnie Crowe, Luke Wasserman and Toby Neill - with Johnnie as executive head chef - they are also the team behind London restaurants Nest in Hackney and Fenn in Fulham.

As you’d expect from a place sporting a Green Star, sourcing and seasonality is utterly central to their ethos, so expect the glut of spring produce to be present on the plate over this 10-course tasting menu, taking in British and European influences as well as forward-thinking techniques.

The cooking will be as impressive as the location - taking place at the glorious Grade II-listed Grand Pacific, the site of Manchester’s old Reform Club, built in 1871.

It was from its balustraded balcony that the likes of Churchill and Lloyd George addressed the people of Manchester. A grand place indeed.

We can’t wait to welcome Johnnie and the team to Manchester for a truly memorable night of warming, homely-yet-cutting-edge dishes, with a selection of excellent paired wines once again being provided by Berkmann Wine Cellars, the UK's largest largest family-owned wine importer in the UK.

Highlights

  • Enjoy a ten-course tasting menu
  • A glass of sparkling wine on arrival
  • Carefully curated wine flight included with your ticket

Details

  • £185 per ticket: Choose between a table for 2, 4 or communal table

Described by The Guardian’s food critic Grace Dent as ‘a place to take the food obsessive in your life’, Restaurant St. Barts has been lauded with praise by critics and diners alike for its thoughtful, beautifully presented tasting menus.

Ranging from delicate raw and cured dishes all the way to open-fire grilling, it's known for vibrant, inventive cooking that lingers long in the memory.
