WONDER PAWS JUVENILE DOG COURSE
5-WEEK LEVEL 1 TRAINING & SOCIALISATION COURSE
Its never too late to start training! Our 5-week basic obedience course welcomes older, dog-friendly puppies who have had no previous formal training and would benefit from learning the basics and enjoying off-leash socialisation! Helps owners deepen the bond and develop clear communication with their older puppy.
- Sit, Down, Touch Recall, Go to Mat and Settle behaviours
- Develop Impulse Control with new skills like Leave-It, Stay, 4-paws on floor
- Behaviours trained using food lures, then quickly progress to handsignals & verbal cues
- Loose-lead walking techniques
- Building a Reliable Recall with distractions
- Carefully supervised off-leash play
- Manage puppy behaviours like play-biting, jumping, chewing etc
- Key socialisation with other puppies, adults and children and novel stimuli
- Dog Safety & Bite Prevention: appropriate puppy handling, teaching bite inhibition, trading games etc
- Grooming preparation (happy with hands and brush skills)
- Puppy nutrition, husbandry, care & grooming
- Responsible dog ownership
- Boosts SHY puppies confidence & helps prevent fear-based behaviours
pre-requisite: full set of vaccinations PLUS canine cough vaccine
location: Wonder Paws Dog Adventure Park, Beech Hill Allotments, Scalp Rd Enniskerry MAP HERE
duration: 5 x 1hr weekly classes (NO classes on Bank Holiday Weekends)
**COVID PROTOCOLS**
- Masks are MANDATORY at our training location - please wear from exiting your car
- Hand-washing or sanitisation on arrival
- Temperature check on arrival
- Please observe 2m distancing from other clients while on-site
- 1 handler & 1 spectator per puppy (over 16yrs) at our location - spectators are permitted to spectate on the sidelines adhereing to the 2m distancing rule - please bring your own camp-chair
Terms & Conditions
- Participants agree to our Covid Safety Protocols above regarding restricted number of attendees per puppy (1 handler & 1 spectator), mask wearing, hand sanitising and social distancing
- CLASSES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE outside of written medical/veterinary advice.
- Missed classes are forfeited - we provide a coursebook and detailed homework sheets for each class so that you will know what has been covered.
- Course Cancellation must be requested 7 days before classes start via email to woof@wonderpaws.ie. to receive a refund (less €25 cancellation admin fee)
Liability Disclaimer
- I understand that dog training is not without risk to myself, members of my family, or my dog. I agree that, in the event of injury to my family, my dog(s), or myself, I will not hold Wonder Paws (or their Instructors) or our Landlord (Beech Hill Allotments) responsible. I also agree to assume all responsibility for any damage done to property, persons, or other dogs by me or my dog’s actions.
- My dog(s) is free of any infectious disease and is vaccinated for: Distemper, Parvovirus and Bordetella (Kennel Cough).
- My dog is also free of contagious parasitic problems, whether internal or external (including fleas and ticks), and is free of any contagious skin disorder.
- I understand that performance training of any type is a strenuous activity requiring my dog to be physically fit.
- My veterinarian has examined my dog and agrees that my dog is in condition to attend dog training classes
