The Last Day of School

Durchgang presents a unique exhibition by and with Iranian filmmaker and producer Sina Ataeian Dena. The last day of school. An exhibition that combines different art forms such as painting, music, performance and film. Women are in the light.

The meaning of the title of our exhibition Last Day of School is taken from the film PARADISE, which describes the everyday life of a young female teacher in a modern Theran. Woman Life Freedom is a worldwide struggle for equality, freedom and human rights. This applies wherever these fundamental values are being fought for. We invite you to experience portraits of women in a darkened room. 

You will be given a flashlight and you decide for yourself what remains hidden and who shines in the light. The exhibition evenings in the Durchgang are from May 14 to May 18, 2024 from 7 to 9 pm. Book your own time here.

The screening of the Golden Leopard nominated film PARADISE will take place on May 12 at Stadt Kino Basel. PARADISE is a film by Sina Ataeian Dena and the producer Yousef Panahi.
