About

The Next Frontier of Canada's Digital Divide

Join us in Ottawa or online for a conversation about the next frontier in bridging Canada’s digital divide. Panellists Ian Scott (former Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission chairperson) and Bill Murdoch (executive director of Clear Sky Connections) will discuss the approaches governments can pursue to overcome these gaps, address the needs of underserved communities and improve the affordability of the internet.

The panel, moderated by the IRPP’s president and CEO, Jennifer Ditchburn, will be a hybrid event that will take place in person at the Impact Hub Ottawa and online via Zoom. Participation is free, though space is limited and registration is required. A light lunch will follow the panel discussion.

The event is the third in a three-part IRPP lecture and research publication series, Imagining a Better Digital Future for Canada, sponsored by TELUS.  A supporting policy paper by Ian Scott, Conquering the Next Frontier in Bridging the Digital Divide, is available at irpp.org.
