.MICHAEL FOYLE

Since winning the 2016 Netherlands Violin Competition Michael's  concerto appearances have included Szymanowski 1 and Korngold with the Rotterdam Philharmonic and Prokofiev 1 with ECO. He followed an acclaimed debut recital disc of Debussy, Janacek and Respighi sonatas with Lutoslawski and Penderecki. The complete Beethoven sonatas with MaximŠtšura have just been released.

IAIN BURNSIDE

While Iain is celebrated primarily for his work with many of the world's great singers, he has extensive experience as a chamber musician. His discography spans over 50 CDs, reflecting both the wide spectrum of his musical interests, and his passion for programme planning. He has pursued a parallel career in broadcasting, honoured by a Sony Radio Award, and relishes any opportunity to combine both spheres of activity.

Haydn Trio in E minor Hob.XV:12

Judith Weir.  O Viridissima

Shostakovich Trio no 2, op 67

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Dvorak Trio no 3 in F minor op 65

4 different trios from 4 different centuries: more, if you count the plainsong of Hildegard of Bingen, the inspiration behind Judith Weir’s poignant O Viridissima.

Haydn’s elegance and wit contrast with Dvorak's full blown Romantic passion, while Shostakovich’s Trio speaks to us from the dark days of the Second World War.
