L'art est le miroir qui nous rend plus humains. Souhaitant porter ce miroir au monde entier, rendre hommage aux artistes de tous horizons et partager leurs propres histoires et perspectives,
Ils célèbrent leurs 28 ans de carrière avec VIRAMUNDO : un concert de chansons brésiliennes qui parlent de la vie d’artiste. Au répertoire, outre la chanson-titre, de Gilberto Gil et Capinan, le duo présente des arrangements originaux d’œuvres de Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Joyce Moreno, Almir Sater, entre autres. Chaque chanson met en scène un moment du parcours artistique : l’éveil, l’expérimentation, la relation avec l’instrument, la création ; l’ombre et la lumière, la scène et la rencontre avec le public.
L’art est une entité qui parcourt l’humanité depuis la préhistoire.
Peut-être est-il arrivé avant les êtres humains. Peut-être les a-t-il créés… Peut-être est-il divin. Personne ne connaît avec certitude son origine, sa forme exacte, ni où elle se trouve. Ce que l’on sait, c’est qu’elle se manifeste en chaque artiste : cet être
agité, habile, enjoué, extraordinaire et ordinaire, qui consacre sa vie à un métier aussi
gratifiant qu’ingrat.
Dans un monde où l’individualisme, l’indifférence, l’exploitation, la violence et la
peur prédominent, chaque artiste est un phare de sensibilité sur le chemin de l’
humanité : « Quand on recherche l’art, c’est tellement merveilleux, car sans le savoir et sans le vouloir, nous recherchons les choses spirituelles, ce qui n’a ni poids, ni temps, ni mesure… Mais sans cela, nous régressons vers la pure barbarie, nous

« Je suis Viramundo, errant dans les méandres de l’émerveillement, tranchant au couteau et à la machette les absurdités de la vie ». Qui est le narrateur de cette chanson ? Le spectacle VIRAMUNDO lui est consacré. Un être libre, lucide et enjoué, capable de voir que le roi est nu et, en invoquant le pouvoir de l’art, d’appeler le peuple à transformer le monde « en fête, travail et pain ».

Art is the mirror that makes us more human. Wishing to bring this mirror to the whole world, to pay tribute to artists from all walks of life and to share their own stories and perspectives,
they are celebrating their 28-year career with VIRAMUNDO: a concert of Brazilian songs about the life of an artist. In addition to the title track by Gilberto Gil and Capinan, the duo’s repertoire features original arrangements of works by Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Joyce Moreno and Almir Sater, amongst others. Each song captures a moment in the artistic journey: awakening, experimentation, the relationship with the instrument, creation; light and shadow, the stage and the encounter with the audience.
Art is an entity that has been part of humanity since prehistoric times.
Perhaps it arrived before human beings. Perhaps it created them… Perhaps it is divine. No one knows for certain its origin, its exact form, or where it is to be found. What we do know is that it manifests itself in every artist: that
restless, skilled, cheerful, extraordinary yet ordinary being, who devotes their life to a profession as
rewarding as it is thankless.
In a world where individualism, indifference, exploitation, violence and
fear prevail, every artist is a beacon of sensitivity on humanity’s
journey: ‘When we seek art, it is so wonderful, for without realising it and without meaning to, we are seeking spiritual things, that which has no weight, no time, no measure… But without that, we regress towards pure barbarism; we
would become barbarians.” (Adélia Prado)
“I am Viramundo, wandering through the meanders of wonder, cutting through life’s absurdities with knife and machete.” Who is the narrator of this song? The show VIRAMUNDO is dedicated to him. A free, lucid and cheerful being, capable of seeing that the emperor has no clothes and, invoking the power of art, of calling on the people to transform the world “into celebration, work and bread”.

Kunst is de spiegel die ons menselijker maakt. Met de wens om deze spiegel aan de hele wereld te tonen, hulde te brengen aan kunstenaars uit alle windstreken en hun eigen verhalen en perspectieven te delen,
vieren ze hun 28-jarige carrière met VIRAMUNDO: een concert met Braziliaanse liedjes die gaan over het leven van een artiest. Naast het titelnummer van Gilberto Gil en Capinan brengt het duo originele bewerkingen van werken van onder andere Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Joyce Moreno en Almir Sater. Elk lied belicht een moment uit het artistieke parcours: het ontwaken, het experimenteren, de relatie met het instrument, het creëren; de schaduw en het licht, het podium en de ontmoeting met het publiek.
Kunst is een entiteit die de mensheid al sinds de prehistorie begeleidt.
Misschien bestond ze al vóór de mens. Misschien heeft het hen geschapen… Misschien is het goddelijk. Niemand weet met zekerheid wat de oorsprong ervan is, wat de exacte vorm ervan is, of waar het zich bevindt. Wat we wel weten, is dat het zich manifesteert in elke kunstenaar: dat
onrustige, behendige, vrolijke, buitengewone en gewone wezen, dat zijn leven wijdt aan een beroep dat even
bevredigend als ondankbaar is.
In een wereld waar individualisme, onverschilligheid, uitbuiting, geweld en
angst de boventoon voeren, is elke kunstenaar een baken van gevoeligheid op het pad van de
mensheid: „Wanneer we op zoek gaan naar kunst, is dat zo wonderbaarlijk, want zonder het te weten en zonder het te willen, zoeken we naar spirituele zaken, naar datgene wat geen gewicht, geen tijd en geen maat kent… Maar zonder dat vervallen we in pure barbarij, we
zouden barbaren worden.” (Adélia Prado)
“Ik ben Viramundo, dwalend door de meanders van de verwondering, met mes en machete de absurditeiten van het leven doorsnijdend”. Wie is de verteller van dit lied? De voorstelling VIRAMUNDO is aan hem gewijd. Een vrij, helder en vrolijk wezen, in staat om te zien dat de koning naakt is en, door de kracht van de kunst aan te roepen, het volk op te roepen om de wereld te veranderen “in feest, werk en brood”.
