Desert Rock Legends – Live in Belgium Yawning Man is one of the most influential yet enigmatic bands to emerge from the Californian Desert Rock scene. Formed in the late 1980s, they pioneered a unique style of instrumental, cinematic and psychedelic rock that laid the foundation for what would become the stoner/desert rock genre.
With members : Gary Arce, Mario Lalli, and Bill Stinson, Yawning Man’s music is a hypnotic blend of melodic beauty, atmospheric textures, and free-form improvisation — the perfect soundtrack to the vast landscapes of the Coachella Valley. Their legacy echoes through the scene, famously covered by Kyuss with their version of “Catamaran”.
Following the acclaimed album Macedonian Lines (Heavy Psych Sounds), produced in Joshua Tree by Mathias Schneeberger (Mark Lanegan, Earth, Fatso Jetson), the band has continued to tour internationally, captivating audiences at Desertfest, Psycho Las Vegas, Hellfest, and beyond.
