On September 10 in Paris, join us for the Challenges of Airless Packaging!

HOW CAN WE BALANCE UNIQUE PERFORMANCE, DESIRABILITY, AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE?

Following the success of the conference organized last January by the Full Beauty Suppliers team and In-Signes—led by Gérald Martines—on the theme “Materials of the Future for Beauty Packaging,” join us on September 10 for an exceptional day focused on airless packaging.

A Growing Market
This growing market is projected to exceed five billion dollars and increase by more than 5% by 2032. The main drivers of this growth include increased demand for premium and luxury skincare products, the expansion of the cosmetics and personal care industry, and heightened consumer awareness of product safety and hygiene.

Airless and PPWR: A Paradox and Challenges!
This presents a real paradox at a time when the European PPWR regulation is tightening the conditions for bringing cosmetic packaging to market, and when this type of packaging is primarily made of plastic and necessarily includes a significant number of components—contrary to the push to minimize single-use plastic packaging. Out of necessity, manufacturers often use multiple materials, going against the trend toward single-material packaging, which complicates—or even prevents—recycling.
Finally, at a time when refillability is a growing trend, it remains difficult to effectively refill an airless container without further increasing the number of components and without risking disruption of the “airless” function.
Faced with these challenges, manufacturers are competing to innovate and address the category’s pain points with simplified designs, single-material (or single-family) systems, metal-free pumps, and refillable configurations…
For their part, formulators have learned to leverage the unique performance characteristics of airless systems to design formulas with optimized performance.

What questions, what answers?
During this unique event, airless manufacturers, formulators, and full-service companies will answer the questions you have:
    • How can we offer systems that comply with recyclability requirements?
    • How can we design systems that avoid being classified as overpackaging or deceptive packaging? (Double walls, empty space…).
    • Which systems minimize the impact of refills while ensuring the formula remains protected by maintaining the “airless” criterion?
    • How can we prevent the refill itself from becoming a self-sufficient functional packaging solution?
    • How can we optimize the balance between desirability and cost of goods?
    • What types of formulations are most likely to make the best use of the specific capabilities of airless systems?
    • In which cases is the use of an airless system essential?
    • Do trends in formulation (clean, organic, reduction in the number of ingredients, etc.) favor the use of airless systems, or do they, on the contrary, move away from them?
